Vinay Patel, PharmD

Vinay Patel, PharmD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Touro University, California -- College of Pharmacy and a partner school principal investigator of the grant funding the Partners in D program.

Dr. Patel currently runs a medication therapy management clinic at Touro University Medical Center where he helps low-income patients understand their medications and control their chronic conditions by working closely with their primary doctors.

Dr. Patel's primary research endeavors are in the areas of Medicare Part D and the clinical benefits of medication therapy management. Dr. Patel teaches first- and second-year pharmacy students about over-the-counter treatment therapies and outpatient disease state management. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for third- and fourth-year pharmacy students who carry out their experiential clerkships at his clinic.

Dr. Patel earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Florida. He joined the Touro University, California faculty in 2007.
